Ron was (born 1938) in Muncie, Indiana and raised and went to school in Richmond, Ind. Played football at Test Jr. High and Richmond Sr. High. He Served time in the US Air Force returned to Muncie for two years then back to Richmond. In 1964 he and his brother Freddie left Richmond and went to Calif. That is where he met Perry Fluker, and Len Glascow, and started their movie careers as a stuntmen riding horses in a movie about the 10th Calvary (Buffalo Soldiers).
We then met others who wanted to be in the movie business, like John Mitchell , Ernie Robinson, Henry Kinji and Alex Brown and others. We all became members of the Extras and Actors Guild after meeting Eddie Smith. We had the opportunity to meet Woody Strode and John Russell ( The Lawman), they were a big help to us. After learning to ride, we rode in the Watts Parade, Hollywood Santa Claus Lane, and the Rose Parade, we also road in the parade scene in the movie (Hello Dolly). We where then asked to work on the TV show, (THE HIGH CHAPARRAL) as the 10th Calvary (Buffalo Soldiers).
After doing THE HIGH CHAPARRAL scene we formed the (BSA) Black Stuntmen Association with founder Eddie Smith. The rest is history!
